The Birth of Stars (TBOS) is a light, sound and dance performance, situated outside and within the Studio at GLive. The work depicts the cyclical process of a star being created and extinguished as a metaphor for the cycle of human existence; whilst the live dance depicts the physical journey of a star the soundscape assists in the metaphorical message.

TBOS is an ambitious collaborative project uniting a broad demographic of performers to celebrate in each others diversity. Primary School Children from St. Mary's in Shackleford; Teenage Boys from Christ's College Guildford; Young People from Guildford College and Older People from across Surrey will create and perform the work with Professional Dancers in collaboration with a Sound Artist Mat Clarke, Visual Artist Mary Branson and Choreographer Rachel Palmer. 

Project Partners: Arts Council England, Guildford Borough Council, G Live, Surrey County Council and Waverly Borough Council. The project commenced in late March and culminates in a performance at GLive on October 11 & 12 2013.
