On Friday 2 December, over 100 dancers will come together to perform a lively rendition of The Twelve Days of Christmas at the Farnham Maltings.
Throughout 2016, the dance students who range in age from 5 to 16, have attended community dance classes run by The Dance Movement, which is a resident dance company at the Maltings.
For several weeks, the young dancers have been busy rehearsing the show, which has been choreographed by Nicky Norton from The Dance Movement. She promises that the end result will be fun and different!
The performance will begin with the children arriving on stage in groups. Each group will carry a present that will give the audience a clue as to which verse of the song they will be singing.
Rachel Palmer, Programme Director at The Dance Movement says: “We are really excited about this year’s show and are very grateful to GLive and The Herald group for sponsoring this community event. The students have performed their dances in their individual classes but Friday 2 December will be the first time the groups have performed together as one cast.
“The children are really looking forward to showing their parents and relatives the dances they have been learning. I’m sure the evening will be a real treat for all.”
The show will end with the cast and audience singing The Twelve Days of Christmas. Rachel Palmer will accompany the sing-along on acoustic guitar.
Tickets cost £7 for adults and £5 for concessions. To book, email Nicky.
