Children aged 6 to 11 are invited to take part in a workshop to create a Dance in a Day this half term at G Live in Guildford. The day will have a fun Halloween theme as the children will create a dance to the Monster Mash.
Dance in a Day takes place on Thursday 27 October from 10am to 4pm and is run by professional choreographer Nicky Norton and assisted by dancer Cathy Rogers from The Dance Movement.
"The children have lots of fun taking part in Dance in a Day. It's a really lively day where we teach some simple moves and help the children put together their own short dance piece. They leave the day having learnt a complete dance that they can show to their families when they get home," explains Rachel Palmer, Programme Director at The Dance Movement, which is based in Farnham.
She adds: "Dance is great for building children's self-confidence and an excellent way to get them active. It's lovely to see our young dancers make new friends over the course of the workshop. To make the day even more special, the children will get to have theatrical make-up done by participants from G Live’s make-up artist course - we think the children will love being made up!" says Rachel.
Places cost £35 for the whole day and can be booked online: search Monster Mash at www.glive.co.uk or call 01483 369350. G Live is on London Road, Guildford, GU1 2AA.
