The Dance Movement works extensively in and around the Farnham area with its schools and organisations to develop dance projects for community. With much excitement, it was announced that Sir Matthew Bourne’s companies, New Adventures and Rebourne, would be relocating and taking up residency at Farnham Maltings.
On the 18th of April The Dance Movement invited their new dance neighbours to join them in organising a dance workshop for young people who live in Farnham as a way of warmly welcoming them to the area. The workshops were fantastic success with more than sixty young dancers taking part from local schools including Weydon School and Frensham Heights. Two members of New Adventures and Rebourne, Kerry Biggin and Adam Galbraith led the workshops which focused on repertoires from the Company’s productions, Sleeping Beauty and Lord of the Flies. The Partners in the project included Rebourne, Weydon School and Frensham Heights, with artists Rachel Palmer, Kerry Biggin, Naomi Richards and Bob Keane. TDM are looking forward to a dance relationship with their new neighbours.
