Farnham in Bloom 2015

A community-inspired project created for the people of Farnham, Farnham Blooming was produced in partnership with Farnham Town Council to celebrate twenty-five years of Farnham in Bloom.

The Dance Movement worked in partnership with Farnham Town Council to create a dance project to engage more people in the Town’s yearlyoccurring event, Farnham in Bloom.

Over a hundred and fifty dancers from sixteen schools in and around Farnham performed in the work as well as young dancers from Stopgap Dance Company’s Youth Dance programmes.

The project was made possible by funding of £6,000 provided by Surrey County Council, Farnham Town Council, Farnham Institute, Farnham South Street Trust.

The project was a collaborative effort and involved choreographers Rachel Palmer, Nicky Norton, Suzie Jones, Hollie McGill and Bec Edwards; Artist Joanne McGowan; Photographer Ciarran Minns and Filmmaker Gavin Hoare.

Inspired by the natural beauty of the world joint artistic directors Rachel Palmer and Nicky Norton developed the work from a desire to create a piece for the local town that drew upon relationships between people and their environment.
